Raissa joined the Ryder & Phelps team in June 2024 to serve as a law clerk for the firm. Alongside administrative tasks, Raissa's main role is to aid and direct firm clients through the process of developing their financial disclosures to the court.
At the beginning of her academic career, Raissa attended The Woods College of Advancing Studies at Boston College. There, she was dedicated to her studies at night while being a part of the professional world during her days. It was there that Raissa discovered her passion for the law and decided to attend law school following graduation. Raissa went on to earn a dual degree in Psychology and Social & Criminal Justice from her years at Boston College. Upon graduation, Raissa was the recipient of the Joseph McGuinness Award, an honor granted to graduating students with outstanding achievement in and a commitment to excellence in the fields of psychology and social sciences. Later, Raissa attended The University of Massachusetts School of Law. While there, she explored various areas of law and engaged her school community through her membership in the legal fraternity, Delta Theta Phi. When Raissa re-entered the professional world as a Juris Doctor, she began her legal career working in humanitarian immigration.
During her time working in the immigration specialty, Raissa began to encounter and work on various issues of family law. This inspired her to enter the family law field that she had previously explored in law school. In her free time, Raissa enjoys reading or audiobooks, and occasionally gaming. She undertakes physical activity through restorative Yoga practice and feeds her soul by being a foodie and embracing chef Andrew Zimmern’s philosophy “If it looks good, eat it.”
